Start a Revolution!

Moksa Organics is moving forward with our revolution! We’re adding really cool, fairly traded, handmade bags and totes to our repertoire of really groovy products. We’re also launching our “Revolutionary Tees” shortly.

So why buy Fair Trade goods and curb our consumer spending from big box store, department stores and multiple corporate chains? I’ll now begin my short speech on my soap box (pun intended.) Big box stores take jobs and resources away from locally owned businesses, local farmers and growers, and those with useful skills and trades. They contribute to an epidemic of retail overbuilding. Most of the goods that are produced come from overseas outsourcing where labor laws are slim to none. Factories and plants leave a huge environmental impact because proper legislation, design, and proper infrastructure lack. The pay is lousy and workers are exploited. I know, I know: the old argument “well at least they have a job” doesn’t work for us. Corporations need to clean up!

Fair Trade:

  • Respects and appreciates the hard work of people
  • It provides a living wage for individuals and families and alleviates poverty
  • Fair Trade is anti slavery & anti child labor
  • It supports the conservation of the environment
  • It empowers women and minorities
  • It demands equal rights worldwide

Our bags and totes (made from jute) are made by artisans from the West Bengal region of India.  They belong to a non-profit organization that works to better the standing of women, children, marginalized castes, mentally and physically handicapped and the disadvantaged.  Specializing in jute products, these artisans get the jute from local mills.

Respect our earth, support human rights and start a revolution!
